SAI’s automation engineers lead the industry in the development of Food/Dairy and Pharmaceutical/Biotech process control applications.  Our group specializes in the automation of processes that require CIP cleaning and/or sterilization in the manufacturing sector.  SAI has expanded its services to provide better integration between process and packaging operations, due to the increased need to electronically track products in today’s modern facilities.

A majority of our staff has 10+ years of experience in control system design and development and we distinguish ourselves from most traditional System Integrators in several important ways:

• SAI’s extensive process engineering and design background assures a better inherent understanding of our clients’ needs and the overall system requirements and functionality.  As a result, the commissioning, startup and operator training phase is more efficient and provides for a better performing process long-term.

• SAI provides detailed bid specifications for all control system equipment so our clients can purchase the equipment from an independent party at the most competitive price.

SAI designs to our clients’ hardware and software standards or will design to our own internal standards depending upon the project requirements.  We have developed and implemented an internal quality control program to ensure proper design practices are followed.  SAI will implement the client’s own quality protocols where very specific requirements must be met, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry.

We continually develop new designs with advancing technology while at the same time recognize the value of tried and proven approaches.  We strive to create a balance of new technology combined with proven engineering practice to minimize risk and ensure project success.

SAI utilizes S88 Batch Standard design practices in both system documentation and software design.  We are implementing new technology such as Wonderware Industrial Application Server^® to leverage S88 design principles utilizing modular reusable software to help reduce software development costs.

SAI's engineers are experienced and knowledgeable with the following regulations:

• 21CFR11 (Code of Federal Regulations) as it applies to both food and pharmaceutical applications

• Section 306 of the Bioterrorism Act relating to records maintenance and the need to track products through the manufacturing process

• FDA's Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO)
